Our Story

SHEF's commitment to inclusive education led to the creation of Center For Learning (CFL). Witnessing a number of students at Study Hall facing significant challenges in keeping up with the curriculum and recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach wasn't serving all of our learners despite teachers' best efforts and ongoing remedial programs, it became essential for us to explore alternative educational strategies to unlock the potential within each child.
Our initial attempts to register such learners with the NIOS Board and integrate them within the main campus, while well-intentioned, revealed the subtle yet damaging impact of educational segregation. SHEF's commitment to equity then prompted us to take a bold step-creating CFL, a dedicated space where students could thrive without the pressure of comparison with their 'mainstream' peers.
Thus, we began in 2013 with a small batch of students aged 12-18; now, 102 students are being supported on their personal and academic growth by 10 dedicated teachers.
CFL is not a remedial center; it's a haven for diverse learners. It embraces students with varied learning styles, artistic inclinations, and those who may have been overlooked by traditional systems. It's a place where 'different' is celebrated, and individual strengths are nurtured.
Our paramount focus is on restoring students' self-esteem. Through art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and sporting events, CFL provides platforms for students to shine. The annual convocation, a symbol of recognition and achievement, reinforces their sense of belonging and value.
Furthermore, our proactive engagement with parents fosters a supportive home environment, where children's unique abilities are acknowledged, respected, and honored. This collaborative approach ensures that students receive consistent encouragement and understanding, both at school and at home.
What began as a sincere effort to address learning gaps within mainstream classrooms has evolved into a powerful, independent institution. CFL stands as a beacon of hope, manifesting SHEF's vision of providing quality, inclusive education for all children, regardless of their learning journey. It's a testament to the power of compassion, innovation, and a belief in the inherent abilities of every student.
